Statement on the Shooting of Tanzanian Member of Parliament Tundu Lissu

The United States is deeply saddened by the shooting of Tundu Lissu, Member of Parliament and President of the Tanganyika Law Society. We condemn this senseless act of violence and join Tanzanians in expressing our sincere hopes for his full and speedy recovery.
Marekani imesikitishwa sana kuhusu kupigwa risasi kwa Tundu Lissu, Mbunge na Rais wa Chama cha Wanasheria Tanganyika. Tunalaani kitendo hiki cha kipuuzi na cha kutumia nguvu. Tunaungana na Watanzania kutoa matumaini yetu ya dhati ili apone haraka.
